The objective of this lab is to help students to perform a local network scan and discover all network resources. The purpose of scanning is to discover exploitable communications channels, probe as many listeners as possible, and keep track of the ones that are responsive or useful to an attacker’s particular needs. Network scanning refers to a set of procedures used for identifying hosts, ports, and services in a network. The goal of running a scanner is to identify devices on your network that are open to known vulnerabilities.

Exercise 2: Enumerating Network Resources Using Advanced IP Scanner It becomes very important to perform vulnerability scanning to find network flaws and vulnerabilities, and patch it up before attackers can intrudes into it.
